Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø

Members of WEISS recently spent a week at the University of Toronto (UofT) as part of an ongoing collaboration between the TouchLab at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø, and the and  laboratories at UofT to develop new microrobotic tools for tissue microdissection and stem cell harvesting. The visit forms part of an ongoing funded through the Canada-UK Artificial Intelligence Initiative and builds on cross institutional support from Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø’s Global Engagement Office. During the visit the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø team were able to deploy and test new software for automated cell manipulation using and carry out a proof-of-concept teleoperation test of a prototype robotic tissue resection system. The visit provided an opportunity to see at first hand the amazing research into digital microfluidics and neural stem cell biology at UofT and explore wider opportunities for collaboration.
