These events聽are designed to help postgrads聽think about the intellectual questions in their聽research from a wide range of perspectives across multiple disciplines.聽 We鈥檒l focus on ideas, concepts, genres and rhetorics, to sharpen and hone abilities in thinking, writing and debating. There will be variety of events throughout the year, including informal 鈥淐offee Club鈥� sessions, work-in-progress seminars, a series of discussions on inter-disciplinarity, workshops on concepts, writing workshops. We are keen to develop the programme in discussion with the students themselves, so that it becomes tailored to their聽own intellectual needs and interests. These events are intended to complement the Doctoral School Development Programme and the 鈥減ractical research skills鈥� sessions run by the research councils.

We聽start this term with two series:

• IAS Writers鈥� Coffee Club, for 香港六合彩中特网 PhD students at any stage

A weekly online meeting for 香港六合彩中特网 postgrads, starting on 21 October 2020, 11am鈥�12pm.

• IAS Work-in-Progress Seminar: for 香港六合彩中特网 PhD students after upgrade

Students in the writing-up stage of their PhD are invited to present a draft chapter for informal discussion and reflection. The first session will be on聽18 November 2020, 4pm鈥�5pm
