Current Research and Interests


Oliver Robinson is a co-group leader of the Neuroscience and Mental Health Group at the Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience at University College London, UK. HeÌýis a Principal Research Associate funded by an MRC Senior Non Clinical Fellowship (and previously an MRC Career Development Award Fellowship). He has been at the ICN since 2013.ÌýPrior to this he spent 5 years asÌýa visiting research fellow at the National Institute of Mental Health, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD, USA. HeÌýreceivedÌýaÌýdouble firstÌýBA in Neuroscience from the University of Cambridge, UK and a Ph.D. in Psychiatry and Neuroscience from the Behavioural and Clinical Neuroscience Institute and the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Cambridge, UK.Ìý

Research Summary


We try to better understand anxiety disorders and 'normal' adaptive anxiety and how they relate. We use threat of shock, functional magnetic resonance imaging, computational psychiatry, psychotherapy and psychopharmacology techniques. We ultimately want to improve outcomes for sufferers of anxiety. For more details visit my lab website:
