Dr Mark Frost receives funding from Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Innovation & Enterprise Knowledge Exchange

Congratulations to Dr Mark Frost whose funding application for his project ‘Managing Memory: the LIVHERE-SLU partnership’ has been successful.

The Living with Violent Heritage exchange explores heritage and public history (including history education) in post-war Sri Lanka, and their impact on long-term peace and reconciliation in the country. LIVHERE has produced research focused on, and documenting the experiences of peace activists, teachers, heritage organisations and survivors negotiating the legacies of its violent past.

Sri Lanka Unites, one of the country’s largest youth-centred NGOs/CSOs dedicated to peace building, is currently revising its approach to reconciliation activism and has identified areas where it seeks to work with LIVHERE to enhance its activities. SLU plans to draw on LIVHERE research into public history, national identity, and justice issues to revise its . SLU is also keen to discuss further ways LIVHERE research and expertise may be applied in the training of its youth leaders.Ìý

Funding has been sought to:
1.ÌýÌý ÌýSupport an in-person three-day workshop in Sri Lanka for SLU regional representatives to consult with the LIVHERE PI, Dr Mark R. Frost, on possible revisions to the SLU guidebook.
2.ÌýÌý ÌýIntroduce SLU at a nationwide organisational level to the research LIVHERE has conducted. Ìý
