Meet our new Thematic Research Directors

The Global Governance Institute is delighted to announce the appointment of its new Thematic Research Directors: Dr Barnali Choudhury (Global Justice & Equity) and Dr Julius Mugwagwa (Global Health).

Barnali Choudhury - Thematic Director Global Justice and Ethics
Barnali Choudhury is a Senior Lecturer at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Laws. Her work focuses on the intersection between economic and human rights issues at both international and domestic levels. She will lead on the GGI's Global Justice and Equity research thematic.Ìý

Julius Mugwagwa - Thematic Director Global Health
Julius Mugwagwa is a Lecturer in Innovation and Development at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø STEaPP.ÌýHis most recent research endeavours have focused particularly on technologies and innovations in health care and agricultural systems in low and middle income countries. He will direct the new GGI research thematic on Global Health.Ìý

Thematic Directors form an integral part of the growing community of scholars working on global governance at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø. With the support of the GGI, they undertake a one-year programme of activities – such as research workshops, public lectures or student-oriented events  – focused on their respective thematic.

Research activities at the GGI coalesce around six thematic tracks: Global Governance, Global Economy, Global Environmental Sustainability, Global Health, Global Justice and Equity and Global Security.
