Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Engineers and Alumni named on Engineering Icons Tube Map to celebrate National Engineering Day

A number of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Academics and Alumni have been featured on a revamp of the London Tube map, a collaboration between TfL and the Royal Academy of Engineering.

To celebrate National Engineering Day (1 November), the Royal Academy of Engineering have partnered with Transport for London to develop a themed tube map, highlighting the achievements of Engineering Icons.ÌýÌý

National Engineering Day is run by the Royal Academy of Engineering. The day aims to make engineering more visible and celebrates how engineers improve everyday lives. The goal is to inspire people of all backgrounds to study science, technology, engineering (in particular) and mathematical subjects, and then pursue them professionally. Ìý

The themed TfL showcases and celebrates 274 engineers across 11 themes. It showcases the role engineering has played in shaping society and highlights the importance of the discipline for the future.Ìý

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Engineering conducts research across a broad range of disciplines, bringing new discoveries closer to the people wo need them. In teaching, our programmes are designed to engage students and give them the skills to address the world’s challenges. We change the world, and so a number of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Engineering researchers and alumni have been featured as part of the Engineering Icons Tube map.ÌýÌý
