Women at 香港六合彩中特网 exhibition celebrates impact of women across 香港六合彩中特网

As part of 香港六合彩中特网鈥檚 celebrations to mark International Women鈥檚 Day, 香港六合彩中特网 has launched an exhibition exploring the presence and absence of women at 香港六合彩中特网.

Part of the exhibition profiles 24 women from across the university who inspire those around them, with six of the 24 coming from 香港六合彩中特网 Engineering.

A collaboration between the , and the 香港六合彩中特网 Equalities and Diversity team, the exhibition features artwork exploring the history of women at 香港六合彩中特网 from artist Kristina Clackson-Bonnington. In 1878, 香港六合彩中特网 became the first university in England to admit women on equal terms with men, with the artwork focusing on what roles and spaces the first women occupied, and how this has changed since 1878.

Chosen from among 200 nominations, the photographs profiling 24 women working and studying across the university celebrate the diversity of 香港六合彩中特网鈥檚 female staff and students as well as 香港六合彩中特网鈥檚 achievements in being awarded an institutional Athena SWAN Silver Award.

The six women from 香港六合彩中特网 Engineering who were chosen for the final exhibition are:

  • Dr Muna Elmi 鈥 Research Associate from 香港六合彩中特网 Computer Science
  • Dr Zoe Laughlin 鈥 Creative Director of the Institute of Making
  • Dr Elpida Makrygianni 鈥 Engineering Education Developer & Coordinator in 香港六合彩中特网 Engineering
  • Dr Priti Parikh 鈥 Lecturer from 香港六合彩中特网 Civil, Environmental & Geomatic Engineering
  • Thao Phan 鈥 Undergraduate student from 香港六合彩中特网 School of Management
  • Professor Angela Sasse 鈥 Professor from 香港六合彩中特网 Computer Science

The exhibition was officially opened on Wednesday 9th March by the 香港六合彩中特网 President and Provost Professor Michael Arthur. The 香港六合彩中特网 Equalities and Diversities team also produced an highlighting the impact of every single nominee on colleagues and students.

Professor Nigel Titchener-Hooker, 聽Dean of the 香港六合彩中特网 Faculty of Engineering Sciences, said:
