PhD student Diya Vaid announced as BSA Early Careers Professional Trustee

The Ear Institute is pleased to announce that Diya Vaid, a PhD studentÌýat the Ear Institute, has been appointed as an 'Early Careers Professional' Trustee at the British Society of Audiology (BSA).

The Ear Institute is pleased to announce that Diya Vaid, a PhD studentÌýat the Ear Institute, has been appointed as an 'Early Careers Professional' Trustee at the British Society of Audiology (BSA) Scientific Meeting in early June.ÌýThe new trustee post will involveÌýrepresenting and supporting students and early career professionals/researchers within the BSA, to increase their engagement and to ensure they areÌýdirectly represented onÌý³Ù³ó±ðÌýBSAÌýCouncil and are able to contribute to the development and delivery of the aims and objectives of the organisation.

Diya said:

"I am filled with immense excitement as I embark on my new journey as the Early Careers Professional Trustee within the British Society of Audiology. My foremost goal in this role is to prioritise the needs of students and early career professionals, ensuring their voices are heard and that they feel valued as integral members of the society. Collaborating with students, early career professionals, fellow trustees and council members, I am eager to work together towards fulfilling the BSA's aims and objectives. Additionally, I am honoured to represent both the Ear Institute and Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍøH BRC, and I am committed to upholding their stellar reputation throughout my time in this role."

Diya Vaid is a PhD student at the Ear Institute, supported by ÌýNIHR Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍøH BRC and supervised by Professors AnneÌýSchilder (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Ear Institute) and Fiona Stevenson (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍøÌýDepartment of Primary Care and Population Health).ÌýHer research focuses onÌýhow hearing loss and dementia are addressed as co-morbidities in clinical practice.
