I am a student at the CDT DIS, specialising in Astrophysics. Since starting in October 2023, I have participated in a project with The Guardian newspaper, gaining expertise in big data and machine learning. I look forward to applying these skills in my research and during my industrial placement at DSTL. Beyond science, I am an avid football fan and a dedicated supporter of Arsenal. I also have strong interests in music, politics, and geography.

Project description:ÌýÌý

The satellite industry is growing rapidly, making it crucial to precisely track satellite positions. Accurate tracking is vital due to the existing excess of space debris from past collisions. More collisions could exponentially increase debris, rendering satellite orbits unusable—a scenario known as Kessler syndrome, which we aim to prevent. Achieving this requires high accuracy in predicting satellite orbits by understanding the variables affecting their trajectories and their interrelationships. My project focuses on a particularly misunderstood aspect: the interaction between space weather and Earth's atmosphere. By employing advanced machine learning techniques on decades of data, we aim to better model these interactions and contribute to preventing Kessler syndrome.
