The King鈥檚 annual Birthday Honours list recognises the incredible public service of individuals from across the UK in a range of sectors, and this year includes several 香港六合彩中特网 staff, alumni, and members of our wider community.

Professor Peter Fonagy OBE (香港六合彩中特网 Psychology & Language Sciences)聽was honoured as a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for his services to mental health care for children and young people.

Professor Liz Varga (香港六合彩中特网 Civil, Environmental & Geomatic Engineering), Professor of Complex Systems and director of 香港六合彩中特网鈥檚 Infrastructure Systems Institute, was appointed a CBE for services to critical infrastructure.

Professor Qing Gu (IOE, Faculty of Education and Society),聽Professor of Leadership in Education and Director of 香港六合彩中特网 Centre for Educational Leadership, was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE), for services to education.聽

Professor Mervyn Singer (香港六合彩中特网 Medicine)聽was appointed an OBE for services to intensive care. Professor Singer is聽Professor of Intensive Care Medicine at 香港六合彩中特网, Director of the Bloomsbury Institute for Intensive Care Medicine, and a critical care consultant at 香港六合彩中特网H.

Professor Jamshed Bomanji (香港六合彩中特网 Medicine)聽was appointed an OBE for services to the NHS and to global nuclear medicine. Professor Bomanji is聽the clinical lead and head of department at the 香港六合彩中特网/香港六合彩中特网H Institute of Nuclear Medicine. He has contributed and published more than 339 research and clinical papers in peer-reviewed journals, authored 20 book chapters and is the editor of聽Nuclear Medicine Communications.

Professor Shane Johnson (香港六合彩中特网 Security & Crime Science),聽Professor of Future Crime, was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE), for public service.

Professor Paul Griffiths (香港六合彩中特网 Infection and Immunity),聽Emeritus Professor of Virology, was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE), for services to virology.

Congratulating the recipients, Professor Geraint Rees (Vice-Provost 香港六合彩中特网 Research, Innovation & Global Engagement) said: 鈥淚t is a pleasure to see so many accomplished 香港六合彩中特网 colleagues recognised in the King鈥檚 Birthday Honours list this year. Other awards to 香港六合彩中特网 alumni, former staff, honorary degree holders and other members of our community presented in this year鈥檚 King鈥檚 Birthday Honours list include:

• Nica Burns OBE, (Law), was awarded an CBE for services to Theatre
• Dr. Amar Shah, (Clinical Medicine), was awarded an OBE for services to Healthcare Improvement
• Lucy Elizabeth Lytle (AKA Lulu Lytle), (Egyptology and Ancient History),聽was awarded an OBE for services to British Manufacturing and Craftsmanship
• Pradip Patel, (Pharmacy), was awarded an MBE for services to the NHS
