Our research and teaching interests include life-course research and the use of cohort studies. We explore how biological, behavioural and psychosocial processes operate across an individual's life course or across generations to influence growth and development and disease risk.ÌýWe aim to influence policy and practice to reduce health inequalities, as well as improving the health and wellbeing of the population overall.

Vision and Eyes

Close up human eye
We have a particular interest in eye disease & visual impairment in childhood and in the early life origins of and lifecourse influences on chronic complex eye disease in adult life. Through our research we aim to enhance understanding of these disorders in order to improve their prevention, diagnosis and treatment, and to inform policy decisions nationally and internationally
