Benjamin Tam

Benjamin Tam received a MEng degree in Chemical Engineering with first class honours from University of Manchester 2014. His final research project was based on recycling nuclear fuel rod and molecular simulation. In his study in Manchester he was awarded a BP philanthropic Scholarship on his article 鈥淒eep sea horizon: the moral obligation of the company鈥. In 2014, he decided to further his academic career in molecular simulation and joined 香港六合彩中特网 PhD programme in September 2014.

Research project

Title: A QM/MM simulation study of Metal Organic Framework and a development of universal simulation package.

Benjamin Tam鈥檚 research focuses on the study of Metal-organic framework (MOF) simulation and development of a universal simulation package. The current Molecular Mechanic force field poorly represents the interaction between MOF and absorbates, henceforth a new universal MOF Quantum Mechanic and Molecular Mechanic simulation package is devised to correct the problem. The package will base on theoretical calculation instead of empirical force field fitting; hence it will be universal for all absorption simulation.聽
