The Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Research Department of Neuroscience, Physiology and Pharmacology is world-leading in the study of the nervous system, from molecules and synapses to circuits and behaviours. Our researchers and students have access to a wide range of cutting-edge facilities.
The Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Molecular Interactions Facility has its own on-site instrumentation in terms of two analytical ultracentrifuges (AUC), surface plasmon resonance (Biacore X100) and dual polarisation interferometry (DPI), plus protein purification facilities.
The Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø/Birkbeck ISMB Protein Crystallography and Biophysics Centre has a variety of equipment is available for sample characterisation and optimisation, crystallisation, crystal monitoring as well as for equilibrium and kinetic studies of proteins, nucleic acids, small molecules and their interactions.
The Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø zebrafish facility is currently comprised of four separate multi-rack systems and several standalone and bench top systems housed in five separate rooms.
This laboratory conducts ground-breaking research on Neurogenetics and Rare Diseases with expertise in long-read sequencing and identification of repeat disease genes and hosts a DNA bank that holds over 110,000 samples.
Imaging facilities at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø ensure researchers have timely access to equipment, resources and expertise necessary to undertake world-leading research.
Based at the School of Pharmacy, the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø GeneTxNeuro Vector Core Facility can help with the production of research-grade viral vector batches.
The Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Centre for Cardiovascular and Metabolic Neuroscience brings together research groups conducting basic and clinical studies directed at understanding the role of neural mechanisms in the development of cardiovascular and metabolic disease.
