Calling all Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø students, this is your chance to help make a difference.

Design an inspirational poster to reduce food waste and your design could be used in a Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø-wide campaign, as well as receiving a £100 Amazon Gift Voucher.

Worldwide, about one-third of all food produced gets lost or wasted in the food production and consumption systems. This equates to over 1.3 billion tonnes of food - enough to feed the estimated 870 million people who are going hungry each day. The waste of good food and drink is associated with 4% of the UK's total water footprint.

If we all stop wasting food that could have been eaten, the benefit to the planet would be the equivalent of taking 1 in 4 cars off the road.

Working with Green Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø and the Grand Challenge for Human Wellbeing we are looking for a poster design that will encourage people to think about waste in and around college and how to reduce food waste.

  • Competition closes 5.00pm, 26 October 2015.
  • Open to Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø students only
  • Please email your submission to sustainable-resources@ucl.ac.uk
