IIPP's Rethinking Capitalism module: Policy-maker places available

IIPP is again making available 15 places for economic and public policy makers to attend our Rethinking Capitalism course in 2020.

The courseÌýwill provide attendees with a critical perspective on the ‘grand-challenges’ facing modern economies including falling productivity, investment and living standards, widening inequality, financial instability and the growing threat of climate change. The course combines academic lectures from some of the world’s leading new economic thinkers with policy lectures from leading policy makers and influencers.Ìý This year’s guest lecturers includeÌý,ÌýCarlota Perez,Ìý,Ìý,Ìý,Ìý²¹²Ô»åÌýÌýalong with IIPP staff,ÌýMariana MazzucatoÌý(Director of IIPP),ÌýRainer KattelÌý²¹²Ô»åÌýJosh Ryan-Collins.ÌýÌý

Rethinking Capitalism
The module will help students develop their critical thinking and make the connections between economic theory and real world policy issues. It will provide an introduction to a range of different economics perspectives, including Neoclassical, post-Keynesian, ecological, evolutionary, Marxist and institutional economics theories and how their different assumptions link to different public policies.

Fees

  • £395 for lecture attendance only
  • £495 for lecture and seminar attendance
