Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Energy Institute has joined Nottingham University as UK representatives to : ‘Definition and Simulation of Occupant Behaviour in Buildings’.

The project held the first meeting of its working phase at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, USA, at the end of March. It seeks to design, develop, and integrate occupant behaviour into the leading building simulation models such as EnergyPlus, ESP-r and DesignBuilder, and will run until 2017.

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Energy Institute will be involved throughout, through the work of Subtask A: Occupant movement and presence models in buildings. The major output from this work will be a set of international best practice guidelines for monitoring and data collection for occupant behaviour and occupancy in buildings, with Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø researchers and being lead authors on the chapter on experimental design.
