Professor Paul Ekins was appointed Professor of Resources and Environment Policy and Director of the (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø ISR) in August 2012 and will lead on the Institute’s research, teaching and engagement programmes. joins Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø ISR from Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Energy Institute who are now co-partnered sharing space and administration in central London.

Created in 2012, the vision of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø ISR is a world of globally sustainable resource use. In pursuit of its Vision, the Mission of Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø ISR is to generate knowledge by supporting cross-disciplinary research approaches to promote the globally sustainable use of natural resources. Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø ISR has been established through the founding sponsorship of BHP Billiton Sustainable Communities and is a partner institute to the  Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø International Energy Policy Institute (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Australia) as well as Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Energy Institute.
