Bartlett Research shortlisted for the 2018 RIBA President's Awards

An impressive collection of research projects by Bartlett academics have been shortlisted for this year's RIBA President's Awards for Research.
The shortlist for RIBA President's Awards for Research 2018 includes five entries from The Bartlett School of Architecture in the Ethics and Sustainable Development, Cities and Communities, Design and Technical, and History and Theory categories.听
In the Ethics and Sustainable Development category听Reflect Critically and Act Fearlessly: A Survey of Ethnical Codes. Guidance and Access in Built Environment Practice by Dr听David Roberts has been nominated.听
Opague Architectures: Urban Sites of Refuge in Cape Town (1990 鈥� present) by Dr听Huda Tayob was nominated in the Cities and Communities Category.
A Machine For Playing In: Exploring the videogame as a medium for architectural agency by Dr Luke Pearson (drawing above) was nominated in the Design and Technical Category.听
In the History and Theory category, both听May Mo(u)rn: transitional spaces in architecture and psychoanalysis 鈥� a site-writing by Professor听Jane Rendall has been nominated听and听The Advent of Architecture in China by Dr听Edward Denison, and, independent researcher Guang Yu Ren.听
About the RIBA President's Awards for Research
The awards celebrate the best research in the fields of architecture and the built environments. This year, 43 entries were received and听provided a glimpse of just some of the research being undertaken across the globe by architects, built environment professionals, academics and students. This includes fieldwork and case studies from New Zealand, Pakistan, Germany, the USA and Chile to name a few.听
