The Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Institute of Archaeology has published the following statement regarding the Petrie Palestinian Collection.

Statement from the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Institute of ArchaeologyÌý

The Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Institute of Archaeology, with funding from the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Research Institute for Collections, is committed to addressing the colonial origins and legacies of the Petrie Palestinian Collection, which contains more than 20,000 artefacts excavated by Sir Flinders Petrie during the British Mandate of Palestine, and was acquired by the Institute on its founding in 1937.

This staff-student initiative will involve updating relevant information about the collection, providing new educational content, and other enterprises to promote awareness and understanding of the collection.
