Elizabeth Baquedano interviewed on the history of the looking glass

Elizabeth Baquedano (Honorary Associate Professor, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Institute of Archaeology) was invited to participate in a BBC World Service programme on the history of mirrors.

In a recent episode of theÌýBBC World Service programme - The ForumÌýentitled 'Mirror Mirror on the wall: The history of the looking glass', Elizabeth Baquedano was part of a panel of expertsÌýdiscussingÌýthe history of mirrors and their importance in different cultures, highlighting their useÌýin the indigenous cultures of Mesoamerica.

The Forum is the BBC World Service's flagship discussion programme, bringingÌýtogether prominent thinkers from variousÌýdisciplines and different parts of the world with the aim of creating stimulating discussion informed by highly distinct academic, artistic, and cultural perspectives.

Elizabeth currently teaches a graduate course at the Institute on Aztec Archaeology which examines the critical boundaries between the historical records, the painted books (codices) and material culture, focusing on the Spanish Chroniclers of Sixteenth Century Mexico. She is the author of Tezcatlipoca: Trickster and Supreme Deity, 2015 (University Press of Colorado).
