After a quick overview of what we do at ASE - given by Steve Patton -聽the YACs got to see a range of artefacts from our excavations. These objects covered the entire time span of what we find: Palaeolithic and Neanderthal flint tools, Late Stone Age Neolithic and Early Bronze Age arrows, Early Bronze Age and Roman pottery, and 20th Century military objects (including a bayonet and a helmet).

Next, the YACS were given a tour of the building, and Jake Wilson gave a talk on his book 鈥楢ncient Egypt鈥� and the important things to consider when writing about archaeology. The next hour was spent with the YACs writing their own stories and聽drawing storyboards, and the day was finished by sharing some of the fantastic聽work.

Our ASE colleagues had a great time, as well as the YAC group:
