This is a fully funded PhD studentship based in the department to study religious life and the International Space Station in Moscow, Russia. The candidate must have a background in anthropology focusing on the anthropology of Russian Orthodoxy and Russian studies and have native fluency in the Russian language. The PhD studentship examines one site of several in a multi-sited ethnography of the International Space Station. The student will be part of a larger team of post doctoral researchers including the PI based in California, Texas, England, Germany, Russia and Japan. The PhD studentship will commence September 2020 and last 4 years. The candidate will be jointly supervised by Prof. Victor Buchli and Dr. Timothy Carroll.
