Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Institute of the Americas is seeking to fill a position in Latin American and/or Caribbean history at the Lecturer level (equivalent of a U.S. tenure-track Assistant Professor position).

The role holder will carry out research, teaching, and administration within the Institute of the Americas. They will contribute to the Institute's teaching provision in Latin American and/or Caribbean history, develop specialist optional modules, and make contributions to core modules, at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. They will contribute to the academic management of the department by taking on responsibilities in relevant areas, and by contributing to Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø-wide working groups and committees.

This is an open-ended appointment which will commence on 1 September 2023.ÌýWe will consider applications to work on a part-time, flexible and job share basis wherever possible.

This role meets the eligibility requirements for a skilled worker certificate of sponsorship or a globalÌýtalent visa under UK Visas and Immigration legislation. Therefore, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø welcomes applications from international applicants who require a visa.

About you

Applicants must have a PhD in History or related subject. They should have a track record or trajectory of internationally excellent publications in Latin American and/or Caribbean history, and proven experience of teaching and assessment at university level in Latin American and/or Caribbean history.ÌýÌý

We particularly welcome applicants with a research background in the history of Latin America and/or the Caribbean before 1900.
