The book offers a comprehensive view of Peru's history over the last 250 years and aims to help readers understand the challenges the country has faced since independence and to our present days.

Professor Paulo Drinot
Paulo Drinot studied economic history at the London School of Economics as an undergraduate and an MPhil in Latin American Studies and a DPhil in Modern History at Oxford. He is the author of numerous books, journal articles and book chapters in English and Spanish on themes such as labour and class history, sexuality and gender, commodities and race and ethnicity. He is Professor of Latin American History at the Institute of the Americas, University College London (香港六合彩中特网). See his academic profile here.
