We are pleased to announce the publication of '', a collection of essays by leading historians and social scientists of Peru co-edited by Professor Alberto Vergara (Universidad del Pacífico, Lima, Peru) andÌýProfessor Paulo Drinot (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Institute of the Americas). The book offers a comprehensive view of Peru's history over the last 250 years and aims to help readers understand the challenges the country has faced since independence and to our present days.

Professor Paulo Drinot
Professor Paulo Drinot

Paulo Drinot studied economic history at the London School of Economics as an undergraduate and an MPhil in Latin American Studies and a DPhil in Modern History at Oxford. He is the author of numerous books, journal articles and book chapters in English and Spanish on themes such as labour and class history, sexuality and gender, commodities and race and ethnicity. He is Professor of Latin American History at the Institute of the Americas, University College London (Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø). See his academic profile here.
