  1. Code of Conduct for Researchers

The review of the current Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Code of Conduct for Research has been underway for some time.ÌýThe Research Integrity team, in consultation with others, has drafted a revision of the Code. To date, the team has received feedback from several areas within Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø, including Academic Board, Research GovernanceÌýCommittee, Unions and Research Boards of all faculties.

We are now opening Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø-wide consultation and areÌýseeking feedback on the draft of the new Code of Conduct for Research via an . It provides all staff and students with the opportunity to contribute to the policy and governance of the university.

  1. Overseas Research at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø - Routes to Impact Survey

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø would like to increase the support available for its research community wishing to engage or who are already undertaking research internationally. To do this in a meaningful way, Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Research, Innovation & Global Engagement, in collaboration with VP Health, wants to hear your views on what resources or in-house training you need to achieve impact creation from research in international settings.

Please take five minutes to answer a few questions via our short online form. This will enable us to analyse the results andÌýturn them into an action plan so we can provide a tailored programme for the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø community.

Deadline: Saturday 31 July

  1. New login for Idox funding opportunities

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø’s supplier of funding opportunities, Idox, are releasing new versions of their ResearchConnect and GrantFinder services to Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø users onÌýWednesday 21ÌýJuly at 11:00.

Visit our website to find out more about the services, the new login required and a training session being delivered on 27 July.

  1. Framework for starting or resuming fieldwork at non-Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø settings

Researchers are reminded that they should continue to plan and manage their fieldwork against Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø’s current guidance. This is to help ensure that fieldwork is safe for staff, students, and participants. The guidance has been recently updated to accommodate the lifting of legal restrictions in England on 19 July. Please be aware that the guidance may change as the situation evolves and researchers are encouraged to check it regularly.

Researchers should also keep in mind that the UK’s devolved administrations are easing restrictions at different speeds and what may be permitted in England may not be the case elsewhere. Restrictions on travel outside the UK remain in place and can change with little warning.

  1. Introducing the Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Research and Innovation Portal

Our colleagues in Professional Services (TOPS) have recently developed a Research and Innovation Portal Ìý- a one-stop point of access for all research and innovation related guidance, based on the research and innovation lifecycle. The site will remain in beta over the summer but is fully functional. We actively encourage you to use the portal andÌýcontinue to provide feedback for further development and improvement.
