Developing a student-led vision

Student and Registry Services enlisted a team of students to find out what they want from their Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø experience.

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø students

Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Student and Registry Services recruited a team of students to design and implement a student-led engagement project. Using focus groups, surveys and social media the team involved more than 500 of their peers with the topic of what an exceptional student experience at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø should look like in the future.

The focus groups included undergraduate, postgraduate and postgraduate research students, with home, EU and international participants.

Several key themes emerged, including a strong desire for a more cohesive Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø identity; more imaginative use of space and communal space in particular; more cross-disciplinary work; greater interaction between students and academics; and greater integration of students so that they benefit from the diversity to be found at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø. Concerns about accommodation and facilities were also raised.
