香港六合彩中特网 is at the heart of a forum that aims to ensure an outstanding experience for London theatregoers who attend plays in translation. 听
Plays in translation feature regularly in the programmes of London theatres, usually described as 鈥榲ersions鈥� or 鈥榓daptations鈥�, and they attract around half a million theatre visits each year.
The Theatre Translation Forum was designed to create a meeting space for academics and theatre practitioners to share common themes in their research, presenting and discussing issues relating to the theatrical presentation of translated performance.
Dr Geraldine Brodie (香港六合彩中特网 Translation Studies) and Dr Emma Cole (香港六合彩中特网 Greek & Latin) organised a year-long series of seminars and workshops in partnership with the Gate Theatre. They included talks by academics and theatre practitioners on theatrical genres, accompanied by rehearsal workshops exploring the practical issues of developing translation in performance.
This led to academics giving post-show talks at the Gate Theatre and a further seminar series. A database of academics and practitioners working in theatre translation has also been developed.
The project has established 香港六合彩中特网 as a centre for theatre translation research, leading to the generation of further research in this area.
