We are very proud that in 2016 a total of seven Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø academics were elected as fellows of two prestigious national academies, and all of them are women.
Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø was the first university in the UK to admit women on equal terms with men and we remain committed to promoting gender equality in academia, where there are still few women in the very top jobs.

And in recognition of their outstanding contribution to science,ÌýProfessor Eleanor MaguireÌý(Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍø Institute of Neurology),ÌýProfessor Polina BayvelÌý(Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍøÌýElectronic & Electrical Engineering) andÌýProfessor Maria FitzgeraldÌý(Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²ÊÖÐÌØÍøÌýNeurology, Physiology & Pharmacology) were elected as Fellows of the Royal Society.
