The work presented by Matthew was the result of a collaboration involving himself, Prof Marc-Olivier Coppens and Dr Barry Reid from the CNIE, as well as Dr Sophie Acton and from the MRC Laboratory for Molecular Cell Biology.

TERMIS is the most prominent organisation in the field of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine (TERM) and TERMIS-AP represents one of the most influential TERM conferences in the Asia-Pacific region. Close to 1000 delegates from 38 regions around the world attended the conference, with plenary lectures delivered by renowned professors, such as (Harvard), (Oxford/Imperial/Karolinska) and (University of Hong Kong/The Chinese University of Hong Kong). The conference featured invited and keynote lectures on topics including 3D bioprinting, organ chips and cancer modelling, which are highly relevant to Matthew鈥檚 work, as part of the Cancer Grand Challenges project (), on microfabricated scaffolds to model the tumour microenvironment.
