Biography

Partner with Charles Pinney in Pinney & Case, which evolved from Pinney & Ames.

  1. Robert Edward Case and his wife Mary had at least two sons: Edward Howe baptised in Clifton 31/08/1820 and Frederick Charles baptised in Clifton 29/06/1824, and two daughters, Mary Elizabeth and Fanny. By the time Robert Edward Case made his will in 1844, his surviving children were Edward Howe; Mary Elizabeth; and Fanny.

  2. Death of Robert Edward Case registered Q2 1844 Clifton Gloucestershire.

  3. Will of Robert Edward Case, merchant of Bristol, proved 23/05/1844. Under his marriage settlement with Mary Howe of 1818, he left to his son Edward Howe Case the house at No. 4 Grosvenor Place in Clifton, to the exclusion of his two daughters Mary Elizabeth and Fanny, to whom he left 拢1500 each. He left to Edward Howe Case the capital he had in the partnership of Pinney & Case and in 'Clarke Maze & Co., or the Great Western Cottonworks or by whatever firm or title the same may be known.' He then charged his interest in Clarke Maze with 拢500 for each of his daughters, payable unless its profits over three years did not reach 拢1000.
