T71/871: claim from Charles Chatfield and William Cruttendon, as trustees of Matthew Gregory Lewis (deceased), by their attorney Wm. Ridgard. Counterclaim from John Sheddon [sic], entitled to one fourth of £5000 under certain order and reports made in Lushington versus Sewell in the English Chancery. Charles Chatfield and William Cruttendon admitted claim for £1250 plus interest from 30/04/1835 at 4%. Therefore: £1271 2s 2d went to John Shedden; £3020 15s 4d went to the trustees (thus the amount shown in Parliamentary Papers (£3020 15s 4d) is wrong: the claim should total £4291 17s 6d).
