Data science and energy systems students get the best of two hemispheres

17 July 2018

There is just over a month to go for prospective students who want to apply for entry into two exciting international postgraduate programs in energy systems and data science - and if their application is successful, they could be studying in London this year.

Building on UniSA鈥檚 strong partnership with University College London, two new joint masters鈥 programs 鈥 the听听补苍诲听听- will commence in September.听

UniSA Pro Vice Chancellor: IT, Engineering and the Environment,听听says the new offerings will give masters students a remarkable opportunity to gain international perspectives in their field of study.听

鈥淚n both of these programs, students will be learning from experts with broad international experience and they will be gaining industry experience in two counties,鈥 Prof Beecham says.听

鈥淭hey will also have the advantage of having a joint Master鈥檚 degree from both 香港六合彩中特网,听听and UniSA, listed in Australia鈥檚 top 10 for universities under 50 years, according to the world rankings QS rankings.听

鈥淢ost importantly though, is that both universities have strong engagement with industry and students in these programs will learn in an industry context 鈥 either through relevant placements and projects during their studies or through a curriculum deeply informed by industry realities and challenges.鈥澨

Prof Beecham says the programs offer a unique opportunity for prospective students to look at those challenges through a new lens 鈥 in the context of the European market and the changes that Britain鈥檚 exit from the EU will mean for business and development both in data science and sustainable energy.听

Dean of Faculty of Engineering Sciences at 香港六合彩中特网听听says he is delighted to see the flourishing of the partnership with UniSA and how it is providing international opportunities for students.听

鈥淲e live in a world completely transformed by globalisation and it is an enormous advantage for any graduate to have studied across cultures and continents,鈥 Prof Titchener-Hooker says.听

鈥淭his teaching collaboration will offer students not only two excellent engineering programs, but also access to industry-engaged projects in two different business environments, working on energy and data science problems in the context of different environments 鈥 and that is a real asset.鈥澨
